Almost from the first minute a president is sworn in, he is positioning himself to be re-elected! You never know what decisions he would really make if he wasn't so concerned about how it would be perceived. If there were no re-election worries, the president could just go into office, put politics aside and make decisions that were in the best interest of the country, period.
If you think of ALL the jockeying, positioning and sucking up to get ready for re-election, then the year that is spent campaigning...the president doesn't serve eight years, anyway....so, we should just have the president serve one (1) six-year term! Think of the increase in productivity and effectiveness.

I've had the same thought, however, think about the bad one-term presidents we've had. You really want to give them two more years? I think the responsibility needs to be one the shoulders of the current president that the American people don't want a full-time campaigner, they want a president that is focused on bettering the country.
ReplyDeleteCurrently we have a 2 term limit for President. Even though Obama has won his second term, he is still out campaigning most of the time.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that Obama is a really bad guy. He is just an empty suit whose only talent is campaigning. He has NO leadership skills.
Blame the dumbass voters for this situation.
